Hire An Architect
An architect is a person who is involved in the planning, design, and oversight of a building's construction. The word "architect" comes from the Greek word “arkhitekton” which means “chief builder”. An architect is a person who turns your requirements and building ideas into a planned reality.  We’ll talk about how an architect can be useful to your project and how much education and experience is required prior to their architecture licensing.
Architects must frequently make professional decisions that affect the safety and well being of the public.   Hire an architect for the drafting of reports, the design of a single building, or the design of several buildings.  Architects also prepare technical documents such as development permits and building permits which require approval from federal and local regulations. Often time’s construction drawings and building plans are often used to forecast the pricing for a new development project.

Before you hire the help of an architect, let’s look at their education requirements.  Architects are required to obtain education and experience before they can practice architecture. In Canada, architects must meet three requirements: education, experience, and examination.  To obtain a degree you must be certified by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board.  The province of British Columbia requires that all Interns gain a minimum of 5,600 hours of work experience. These high standards should set aside any worries of having an inexperienced architect.  All required experience must be completed working under the direct supervision of a registered architect. After the experience requirement has been completed, nine computerized exams are required. But it doesn’t stop there!  An annual fee must be paid and continuing education in order to maintain a license to practice in Canada.

Many architects and architectural firms focus on certain project types for example: health care, retail, public housing. Some architects specialize as building code, building envelope, sustainable design, and historic preservation. Many architects choose to move into real estate, property development, corporate facilities planning, project management, construction management, interior design and other specialized roles.  Architects handle all sizes of projects big or small. Hire an architect today to make your next project a smooth and delightful experience.
